How does buying a car on AFRIKARS work?
You browse verified vehicles, review the full inspection and history report, and fund your purchase through the platform. From there we handle sourcing, shipping, customs clearing, and delivery to your door. You track every stage in the app, from the port to your driveway.
What countries do you source from and deliver to?
We currently source vehicles from the US and deliver into Nigeria. We're expanding sourcing to Europe, Dubai, and China.
Can I see the car before I commit?
Yes. Before you pay, you receive a full independent inspection report, verified vehicle history, VIN check, and detailed photos and video. Every vehicle is documented and verified before any money moves.
What kinds of cars can I buy? Can I request a specific one?
You can browse our verified inventory, or request a specific make, model, or spec. If it's not already listed, we source and verify it for you through our network.
How long does delivery take, and how do I track it?
Delivery typically takes 6 weeks from purchase to your door, covering sourcing, shipping, and customs clearing. You track every stage in real time in the app.
Who handles customs clearing, and do I have to deal with the port?
We do. AFRIKARS is the importer of record and holds its own customs license. We clear your vehicle and pay duties directly, so you never deal with the port or intermediaries. Your car arrives fully cleared.
What documents will I receive with my car?
You receive the complete legal documentation for your vehicle: customs clearance papers, proof of duty paid, and ownership documents. Your car is road-ready and fully registered in your name from day one.
What's included in the price?
The price you see is the full landed cost: the vehicle, shipping, customs duties, and our service fee, delivered to your door. You see the complete cost before you commit. There are no charges added later.
What does the AFRIKARS service fee cover?
Our service fee covers vehicle verification, secure escrow, importer-of-record handling, customs clearing, and guaranteed door delivery: the full end-to-end handling of your purchase.
Payments & Protection
Where your money sits, when it moves, and what happens if something goes wrong.
How are payments handled?
Your funds are held in secure escrow and released in stages, only as each step of your purchase is verified and completed. Funds are never paid out to a seller upfront.
What currencies can I pay in?
You fund your purchase in Naira or US Dollars. You always see the exact amount and rate at every step.
What happens if the car costs less than I paid?
If we source your vehicle for less than the quoted price, the difference is refunded to you. You pay for what your car actually costs, plus the service fee.
Can I withdraw funds I've added but not used?
Yes. Funds added but not yet applied to a purchase can be withdrawn back to your account, returned in the currency you funded in.
Withdrawals of unused funds are available after a 20-day security hold.
What if a vehicle isn't as described, or an issue can't be resolved?
Your escrowed funds are refunded to you, in the currency you paid in. You're only ever charged for a vehicle delivered as verified.
What if a car is damaged in transit?
Vehicles are insured throughout our managed logistics chain. If a vehicle arrives damaged, we resolve it or refund you.
Do you offer financing or payment plans?
Not at this time. Purchases are completed in full through the platform. Financing is planned for the near future.
